Stockpiling is an area that I think is key to making coupons work for you. Now, don't freak out! I am not saying you need to buy a year's supply of toilet paper, rent out a warehouse to store your stuff or anything like that. What I am suggesting is that you wait for a good sale, match it up with coupons and then stockpile enough to last you until the next sale.
This goes back to the idea of knowing the sales cycle for the items you buy. When you start stockpiling, this is where you will start to see huge savings in your budget!
The Fiber One Cereal example I gave in my previous post is an example of stockpiling. Buying 5 boxes of cereal for $3! How awesome! If I wouldn't have bought 5 boxes of cereal, first of all I wouldn't have got such a great deal, and secondly, I would have run out of cereal before the next great deal came along.I firmly believe that if you use coupons only when matched with a good sale and even take advantage of a store's policies, but don't stockpile, you will still miss out on some great savings. The reason I say this is that without stockpiling, you will have times where you need an item and you will pay way more money than you would if you had been stockpiling that item.
I will go into more details on how to stockpile tomorrow. Trust me, this is fun stuff!
